Membership
It is true we have a great course. It is also true that we have an even greater club.
One visit and you’ll appreciate why together they represent such a rare and alluring proposition. Members are drawn as much by the genuine fellowship that envelops the club as they are by the reputation of the course.
We serve a membership that values genuine character over artificial formality. It’s a clubhouse where you pull up a chair on a Saturday afternoon, and within five minutes, you’re part of the conversation. Woodlands is increasingly becoming the “forever club” – a place where the course never gets boring, the community feels like home, and the location couldn’t be more convenient.
Why Choose Woodlands?
Nine reasons our members stay for life.
01
The Thinking Golfer’s Membership
A course that rewards strategy over strength. Firm, fast greens and tight fairways ensure no two rounds play the same. A course that grows with you, never against you.
02
Social Heartbeat
From the Annual Dinner to family lunches, summer twilight competitions, and casual Friday gatherings, our social calendar is built on real connection. At Woodlands, the 19th hole is as important as the 1st.
03
A Sanctuary, 40 Minutes Away
Mature native trees, abundant birdlife, and a sense of space that belies the suburban setting. For Melbourne’s south-east, Woodlands is a high-end escape with an unpretentious ambiance.
04
Championship Conditioning, Every Day
We don’t save our best presentation for tournaments. Bent-grass greens, couch fairways, and fescue surrounds are maintained to championship standards year-round.
05
Equality in Sport
Signatories of the R&A Women in Golf Charter.
06
A Course with Pedigree
Designed by Scott, Russell, Morcom, and Doak. Host to Victorian Opens and Australian Amateur Championships. Membership at Woodlands connects you to a living piece of Australian golf history and one that continues to evolve in the right hands.
07
Junior-Friendly Club
A proud history of developing juniors who have gone on to win Australian Opens and compete internationally. Comprehensive programs from beginner through state-level competition, with heavily discounted junior membership.
08
Reciprocal Golf
Enjoy reciprocal playing rights at clubs across Victoria, Australia, and around the world. Your Woodlands membership is a passport to some of the finest courses on the planet.
09

Becoming a Member
A proposer and seconder are generally required, along with two referees — one of whom must be a current Woodlands member. If you don’t yet know a member, please contact our General Manager, who will endeavour to facilitate your application.
An entrance fee applies on joining, in addition to the annual subscription. Following receipt of application forms, the club posts all prospective names for member comment for a minimum of 14 days. After this period, the Board makes the final decision.
Successful applicants receive a Welcome Pack with full details on the club, a membership tag, and an invitation to a New Members evening — where you’ll meet the Board, key staff, and learn how to get the most from your membership.
Member intakes are subject to field sizes and vacancies within respective categories. Our aim is to get you out on the course as soon as possible. For further enquiries, contact our Membership Administrator or your proposer.
Women’s Golf at Woodlands
Woodlands is committed to our Women’s membership — a community that has been part of the club for over 100 years.
We are a naturally inviting club, respected by passionate and competitive golfers across the world. We are proud of our long tradition of inclusivity — from Saturday playing rights to Board representation, it has always been a genuine part of who we are, not an afterthought.
Our Women’s Introductory Program is a tremendous way to learn the game in a friendly environment, alongside other women who are new to golf or looking to brush up on their skills. Our coaches teach all the basics through weekly clinics and on-course playing lessons, while our members act as mentors to introduce you to club life.
2026 Women’s Introductory Program
