Woodlands has a proud history in VGA and WGV Metropolitan pennant competitions. The Club's first VGA Division 1 flag was won in 1979 then during the 1990's, Woodlands won VGA Division 1 flags in 1995, 1996, 1998 and 1999.  Woodlands has also had success with our Under 24 Colts team, winning the Division 1 flag in 1997 and 2000.  The Ladies have won Section 1 flags in 1962, 1988, 1990 and 1999 with 10 other flags in Sections 2 - 5.

VGA and Colts Pennant 2011

All members with a handicap of 6 or less (8 or less for colts) are encouraged to nominate their interest in being considered for pennant squad selection.

Team Selection Squad

Members nominating their interest will be required to play and complete an average of 2 Woodlands club competitions per month between November 2010 and February 2011. That is, a minimum of eight club valid competition cards will be regarded as the minimum input.

It is also preferred but not compulsory that those who nominate compete in the club championships.

At end of February 2011, the 10 players with generally the lowest exact handicap and who have returned a minimum of eight competition rounds at Woodlands will be selected to be the representative squad for the senior pennant team.

The eight best participants not qualifying for the senior squad but who are eligible for the Colts Team will be selected as the representative squad for the Colts Team.

In the event of a tie on exact handicaps, selection will be generally based on the best average adjusted score for all rounds returned since 1 November 2010.

In the case of an NCR being returned during the qualifying months, the NCR will be deemed to be a score of 90.

A sheet will be displayed on the noticeboard and the website of players who have nominated for squad selection together with their current handicap/participation progress for all members to view.

Team Selection

VGA Team - the selected team will generally be the 7 players with the lowest exact handicap on the Saturday eight days prior to the 1st match.

Colts Team - the selected team will generally be the 5 players with the lowest exact handicap on the Saturday eight days prior to the 1st match.

Complimentary Practice Balls

Practice balls will only be available from 1 January for pennant participants and then to pennant squad/team until completion of pennant season. At all other times, pennant participants, squad and team members must pay the rate of the day for practice balls.

Junior members are entitled to one bucket per day for a rate of $1 and full rate for each subsequent bucket (Under 18 years old)
